Visual ArtIn the Lower School, grades K-4, students receive art instruction once per week for 45 minutes. Included in the art curriculum are various creative and challenging projects which teach students formal elements of art (line, shape, form, texture, value, and color) and principles of art (emphasis, balance, harmony, variety, movement, rhythm, proportion, and unity). In 5th & 6th grade, students receive 6 weeks of daily art instruction. In 7th & 8th grade, students may choose art as an elective. The elective meets twice weekly for one semester. |
