Media Center

middle school boy at desk

The primary goal the media center is to encourage every student to become lifelong readers. Lower School students visit the media center once a week. Developmentally appropriate library skills lessons and story time are part of the curriculum. Middle school students come to the media center to select literature for pleasure reading and for research on a variety of subjects or for special projects.

Through the program, students develop an appreciation of literature, a love of reading, and independent research skills.

Parents have the opportunity to volunteer in the media center. Parent volunteers are an essential part of the success of our annual Book Fair, as well as the smooth day to day operation.

"Cornerstone checks all the boxes for our family. The staff provides a safe and nurturing environment for our child to learn and grow into her gifts, with a strong emphasis on leadership, independence and good moral character. Academically they provide the rigor and tools that challenge and build confidence. This has helped to foster our daughter’s innate curiosity and critical thinking and a love of learning. Cornerstone is more than a school, it is a community, and it has given our family so much more than we ever anticipated."
