Welcome to Cornerstone!
We designed our website to answer your questions. Take some time to explore – whether you are a parent synching up your calendar, a student checking out some new pictures, an alum wondering what’s new at Cornerstone, an educator exploring the possibility of joining our growing staff or a prospective family researching our curriculum, everyone is welcome. We are glad you are here.
For those who know Cornerstone, jump right in. For those who want to learn more about us, let me give you a bird’s eye view of the school, but our preference is always to meet with families face to face. In this electronic age, it’s easy to get away from the basics, but we believe it’s very important to experience Cornerstone firsthand; there’s no other place like it.
Cornerstone was founded in 2001. We are a ministry of Peachtree Corners Baptist Church. Our financials are separate and we have our own board, but we are blessed to have a strong tie to Peachtree Corners Baptist Church. We have grown exponentially in a very short time because we partner with parents by providing quality academic education designed to develop students who will follow Christ, embrace Biblical truth and live lives that glorify God. Our goal as a school is to infuse Christ into everything we do. Cornerstone partners with The Church and parents to educate the whole child: “a cord of three strands is not quickly broken” (Ecc. 4:12).
Despite our relatively young school, our staff averages more than 10 years of teaching experience. They love their subjects, they love kids and they love teaching. The school supports them by guaranteeing small class size, providing state-of-the-art classrooms, and granting a significant degree of independence with the expectation of high standards.
I am entering my twenty-eighth year in education and my fourteenth year at Cornerstone. Formerly I was a teacher, administrator, and coach at Wesleyan for eleven years. Prior to that time, I served Wake Forest, my alma mater, in the admissions office for four years. In all of my years in education, I have never seen so many parents shed tears for their enthusiasm about their children’s experiences as I have while at Cornerstone.
Cornerstone is a special place. I hope you will take the time to get to know us—and let us get to know you.
In Him,
Colin Creel
Headmaster
