Jodi,

I don't remember the exact place we first met but it was through others in the neighborhood & we were together in Sun School class at SUMC. And I remember meeting Dave throughout a work golf tournament even before I met him with you! It was great getting to know you all those years ago & building a friendship! I  cherish the many moments we had together when we would go for a run or walk. It was a time when we both got to share together and really support each other. You always listened & gave great advice. I so saw your faith then as I have seen it now. God is with you each day & so is our love & prayers!

Jodi has been such a sweet & fun friend to all of us through the years. We have been neighbors (living on the same street for over 10 years now).  From the joyful celebrations she has hosted at her home to all the times we have had together as families just hanging out watching football or celebrating a neighborhood holiday she is dear to all of us!  She is a beautiful light wherever she goes and is loved by all!  We love you Jodi and are praying for you and your whole family!

Laura Boyden - Oak Grove Parent

Dear Jodi,

You taught my daughter, Anna, in the 3rd grade at OGES in 2009-10, and I was your room parent. Anna is now 22, and you have always remained at the top of her "favorite teachers" list! You showed her kindness and compassion at a time when she was experiencing social anxiety. When the school year ended, we visited you at your home to present you with a photo book that captured memories from the year, and we got to meet your twin baby boys. Anna was fascinated to visit a teacher in her home, and you were the sweetest hostess! I enjoyed looking back through the photo book and recalling how much you did for your students. From class plays to Madame McMahon's wax museum, it was all so wonderful!

Thank you for being the kind of teacher who made a lifelong impact on so many student's lives. You are truly one of a kind, and we pray for comfort and peace for you and your family.

Fondly,
Laura Boyden

Dearest Jodi,

I am truly so humbled that I had the honor of sharing in your special friendship. Thank you for shining so much of your beautiful light into our lives! I will never forget a special walk that you and I went on together (just you and me) and you shared your precious little ones' stories! I was in awe. You always lifted me up and encouraged me through Him and His blessings! I was always fascinated with your sweet little ones' laughter and love for life, and only wished for a story of my own. You always encouraged me and held my hand through and through so many difficult times. I pray that you know we truly have been praying, holding you so very close, and thinking of you and your beautiful family! Each one of your family members shines your love and light within them! Thank you for giving us, your special friendship and sharing your beautiful gifts in our lives. We feel honored and humbled by your genuine kindness and sincere heart! We love you, Jodi.

With all our love and our forever prayers.

Jodi was the fresh, young teacher that accepted special needs kids into her room way before it was a common occurrence. She was my incentive for many students and they loved to visit her at the end of a good day. What a beautiful person.

Dear Mrs. McMahon,

When I walked into your classroom on the first day of 6th grade, I knew it was going to be a special year. 6B Science has always had a special place in my heart. I continue to remember and laugh at the fun activities and moments we shared. You weren't just my teacher, you were my go-to lady when life was rough. I could always count on you to have a smile on your face and contagious positive energy. Whether it was learning about our solar system or talking with you and Ava Mei during exam study sessions after school, I have really enjoyed our time together. You have inspired all of my classmates and me to continue to grow and learn throughout high school. Thank you so much for caring about me and loving me so well during middle school.

Jodi,

Our paths crossed in August 2017 when I was blessed to partner with you and Dave as Bob began first grade at Simpson Elementary. It was an absolute joy to call Bob one of my darlings! Your gentleness, kindness, and steadfastness could be seen in all of Bob's actions. As we worked together, I was always impressed with your unconditional love for him, and how you persevered to find just the right support to help him be successful in all areas of his life. I continue to be in awe of your parenting skills.

It has been so wonderful to watch our teacher-parent relationship grow into a friendship as teaching colleagues. We share the same philosophy on educating children, and I am forever grateful for our many conversations that helped me to stay grounded as an educator and keep what's most important at the forefront, the child.

When I acccepted the job at Cornerstone, you were there to welcome me with your beautiful smile and a warm hug.  I'm so happy that your impeccable style made it all the way to the lower school as you and Ava Mei helped me set up my classroom.

You have inspired me in many small, but meaningful ways to be a better teacher, friend, and follower of Christ.  You are a true blessing to all, and I know that I am one of the lucky ones to be on that list. I thank God every day for purposely placing us together.

All my love, Maria
